The Isola Side Tables draw inspiration from the irregular, organic shapes found in the salt marshes of the Venetian lagoon. They are also strongly reminiscent of the bodies of thick ice which can be seen in the Engadine valley in Switzerland during the winter months.
The tabletop is handcrafted in cast glass. Heated in a large oven, the molten glass is carefully poured into a steel mould, worked lightly and then taken to a giant oven where it is allowed to cool gradually. Several artisans are involved in this carefully choreographed process where precision and timing play integral roles.
The thick, smooth glass top embodies both the fluid and rigid nature of the material, as it plays with the surrounding light, giving the tables a floating lake-like quality. A simple frame composed of inox steel provides an elegant yet sturdy base.
Made entirely in the Veneto region, Italy. The Isola Tables are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Available in two sizes.
